President Trump, who claimed without evidence that millions voted illegally during the 2016 election, made a seemingly abrupt decision on Wednesday to disband his commission on voter fraud.
The commission asked states to hand over huge troves of voter data so it could search for evidence of fraud. Then came the lawsuits, and refusals from many states to get involved.
Zoe Tillman, a legal reporter with BuzzFeed news, is here to explain the White House's decision to raze the commission.
